This report constitutes proof for building three expander assemblies. A first assembly has already been built and presented in Deliverable 3.7. However, the testing of this assembly severely damaged the expander lab-scale prototype. Therefore, since the partner in charge of the machines’ manufacturing left the project, an off-the-shelf compressor retrofitted into an expander will replace the prototype. Initially, the other two-phase epander was supposed to be a prototype; however, this machine could not be manufactured. Therefore, ULiège took over the activities to prepare a commercial machine instead of the prototype for the final plant. The third expander, working in the superheated region, is supposed to be a commercial machine since the beginning of the project. Therefore, in this report, three expander assemblies using commercial machines are presented. Their operating conditions are given, and the pulley ratios are designed according to the mass flow rate required at these operating conditions. Then, the methodology applied to retrofit the commercial compressors into expanders is presented. Finally, pictures of the final assemblies are provided. All the pieces manufactured to install these expanders on the final REGEN-BY-2 plant are also shown in this report. This deliverable is written in parallel with Deliverable 4.9, which presents the same work applied to the compressors of the plant.
