DEVELOPMENT OF A MECHATRONIC SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLED HUMIDIFICATION OF COTTON FIBER: EXPERIMENTAL RESEARCH AND PROCESS OPTIMIZATION

Description

Cotton fiber moisture content is a critical factor influencing its physical-mechanical properties during the ginning and pressing processes. This study investigates the efficiency of a newly developed mechatronic humidification system at the "O‘qchi" cotton ginning enterprise. A multi-factorial experimental design was employed to analyze the impact of machine productivity , steam flow rate , and steam temperature  on the absolute moisture increment . Regression analysis revealed that steam temperature is the most significant factor (coeff. 0.24). Optimization results using the Given-Maximize algorithm demonstrate that the system can consistently achieve a target moisture content of 8.0-8.3% from various initial states (5-7%), ensuring fiber quality preservation and process efficiency.
