REAL-TIME ADAPTIVE PID CONTROL FOR STEAM-BASED MOISTURE CONDITIONING OF COTTON FIBER: A STRATEGY FOR ENHANCED PRE-PRESSING QUALITY

Description

This study addresses the critical challenge of maintaining precise moisture content in cotton fibers during the steam conditioning process prior to high-density pressing. Traditional PID controllers often fail to handle the non-linearities and time-varying delays inherent in steam-moisture dynamics. We propose a Real-Time Adaptive PID (A-PID) control strategy that dynamically adjusts gain parameters based on environmental fluctuations and fiber throughput. Experimental results (or simulations) demonstrate that the proposed A-PID reduces settling time by 40% and maintains moisture deviation within %, significantly outperforming conventional methods. This ensures fiber integrity and reduces energy consumption in the baling process.
