ALIENATION OF THE HUMAN SELF IN THE INFORMATION SOCIETY: AN EXISTENTIAL APPROACH

Description

The rapid development of information and communication technologies has transformed the social environment, creating unprecedented opportunities for communication, education, and self-expression. At the same time, the information society has generated new forms of alienation that affect the individual’s identity, freedom, and authentic existence. This article analyzes the phenomenon of human self-alienation in the information society from an existential perspective. Drawing upon the ideas of existential philosophers such as Martin Heidegger, Jean-Paul Sartre, Albert Camus, and contemporary social theorists, the study examines how digital technologies reshape human existence and contribute to the loss of authenticity. The article argues that excessive immersion in virtual environments, information overload, and digital self-presentation intensify existential alienation and create conditions for fragmentation of personal identity.
