COMPARATIVE LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS OF MISALIGNMENT BETWEEN PEDAGOGICAL LANGUAGE AND FIELD TERMINOLOGY: AI AS A MEDIATOR IN AGRICULTURAL TECHNICAL ENGLISH

Description

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has become an important part of modern education. In English for Specific Purposes (ESP) classes, AI offers new ways to support language learning. However, little attention has been paid to its role in developing agricultural terminology and disciplinary language competence among agronomy students. This study aims to examine how AI can support the learning and use of specialized agricultural vocabulary in ESP instruction for agronomy students. The study used AI-supported learning activities, including terminology-based exercises and digital communication tasks related to agricultural topics. These activities were designed to connect language learning with students' professional field. The findings showed that AI-assisted instruction helped students remember agricultural terms more effectively. It also improved their understanding of professional concepts and increased their confidence in using English in agricultural contexts. The study suggests that AI can be a useful tool in ESP teaching for agronomy students. It supports both language development and subject knowledge. The findings may help teachers integrate AI into subject-specific language courses more effectively.
