Deliverable (D) 1.2 describes the maturing of the innovative circular nutrient flow systems in the three pilot regions of the P2GreeN project at system level, including aspects related to the maturing of the technologies and the governance solutions. The pilot regions are located on Gotland, Sweden, the North German Plain (formerly Hamburg-Hanover), Germany, and La Axarquia region, Spain, led by the pilot regions coordinators S360, KWB, and BioA, respectively.
To enable an effective transition towards closed nutrient cycles from fork to farm to fork and to halt and eliminate N & P pollution, the P2GreeN project aims at developing a combined demonstration of technologies and governance solutions. Both go hand in hand, meaning that respective governance solutions are needed to support the technologies in maturing and scaling. In addition to the widely established technology readiness level (TRL), the governance readiness level (GRL), that was established within the P2GreeN project, is therefore considered as an essential part of evaluating progress of maturing at system level. To describe the progress of maturing, this report describes maturing in terms of TRL and GRL and gives an overview of other related aspects and activities in the P2GreeN project.
