DIGITAL PEDAGOGY: PATHWAYS OF TRANSITION FROM THE TRADITIONAL LESSON TO AN INNOVATIVE LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Description

In the digital era, education places growing emphasis on richer interaction realised through information and communication technologies. The integration of such technologies enables the use of video lessons, online educational games, internet-based quizzes, and diverse forms of interaction mediated by cyber-networks. The present article examines the theoretical and practical pathways through which the traditional, teacher-centred lesson is being transformed into a modern, innovative, learner-oriented digital learning environment. Drawing on a review of existing learning theories, an analysis of the characteristics of the traditional model, and a comparative study of traditional and digital instruction, the study identifies the constituent components of the innovative learning environment and proposes a phased strategy for transition to digital pedagogy. The findings indicate that digital pedagogy does not negate established teaching methods but modernises them, repositioning the learner as the active subject of the learning process and the teacher as a guide and mentor. The work concludes that the move toward digital pedagogy is not merely a technical innovation but a fundamental renewal of the philosophy of education.
