TRANSLATION FEATURES OF PROVERBS WITH THE "WATER" COMPONENT IN ENGLISH AND UZBEK LANGUAGES

Description

This article analyzes the linguocultural and translation features of proverbs containing the “water” component in English and Uzbek languages. The study examines the importance of water in human life and its symbolic meanings reflected in national consciousness and cultural values. In addition, the article discusses the main factors causing water scarcity in the modern world and the importance of rational use of water resources. Special attention is paid to the semantic characteristics of water-related proverbs, their similarities and differences in English and Uzbek, as well as the challenges that occur during the translation process. The article highlights the importance of equivalent, semantic, and explanatory translation methods in preserving the meaning and cultural background of proverbs.
