'De Dorschkamp': co-creating a vision and an inspiration for human-inclusive nature in Wageningen

De Dorschkamp area in Wageningen is set to undergo redevelopment that aims to merge houses with the natural surroundings. Our clients, de Beuk and Science Shop, are actively involved in creating a new living environment and wish to be an example for sustainable living, considering community engagement, welfare and the climate. They aim to work together with other stakeholders to realize the project and their vision of living in human-inclusive nature. Fibonacci Consultancy is facilitating the "De Dorschkamp: Co-creating a Vision and an Inspiration for human-inclusive nature in Wageningen" project, providing an integrative perspective that unites humans and nature. Fibonacci Consultancy recognizes that issues related to climate change, urban expansion, social cohesion, and inclusion stem from the disconnection between humans and Nature and by addressing these challenges, the project aims to create a sustainable and inclusive living environment for human and other-than-human beings to live harmoniously in Nature There are various disciplines that must be considered when developing a project like this one. However, as our expertise lie in certain fields, we define the knowledge gap based on them. For this purpose, we formulate the main research question “What measures can be taken to create a human-inclusive nature community in De Dorschkamp, considering engagement, nature conservation and sustainability?” First, we examine the social aspect, then, a closer look is taken on the ecology aspects and lastly, we dive into the spatial planningall in all to ensure a human-inclusive sustainable living system.
