Nationalism Beyond Ideology - A Preliminary Theoretical Framework

Description

This manuscript attempts to develop a theoretical framework that places nationalism at the center of modern political and international life. It argues that nationalism is not merely an ideology or an emotion, but a structural force that shapes legitimacy, state behaviour, strategic autonomy, crisis response and world order. The framework explores the relationship between nationalism and sovereignty, nationalism and supranational institutions, and nationalism and state survival. It further argues that while political structures, ideologies and alliances may change over time, nationalism continues to remain a significant organizing force in the nation-state system. This manuscript is presented as a preliminary theoretical framework intended to stimulate further discussion and refinement.
