Remarks.
Zimmer (1902) did not designate a holotype or paratypes; accordingly, we have listed the specimens from both localities as syntypes. In Zimmer (1902), locality is only stated as südl. Br. [south latitude]; however, the inner label and catalogue book of ZMH - K- 016053 state that the locality is Off Argentina.
Diagnosis.
Carapace with sharp, very oblique ridges delineating depressed anterodorsal area. Telson no longer than telsonic somite and with 12 pairs of lateral setae; telson plus telsonic somite together equal in length to peduncle of uropod. Uropod peduncle extending beyond tip of telson (excluding terminal spines) for a quarter its length (after Day 1980).
Distribution.
Southwest Atlantic, off Argentina, and Drake Passage, Scotia Sea, 24–146 m depth (Băcescu 1992; Zimmer 1902).
