Description

Cyclaspis lissa Mühlenhardt-Siegel, 2003

Holotype.

Australia • ovig. ♀; Western Australia, Drummonds, close to Geraldton; stat. 66, 21 October 1975; Gerhard Hartmann & Gesa Hartmann-Schröder leg.; fine sand; ZMH - K- 039927.

Paratypes.

* • 5 juv. + 3 ♂♂ + 4 ♀♀; same data as holotype; one female and one male dissected; ZMH - K- 039928.

Remarks.

Mühlenhardt-Siegel (2003 a) declares only 1 ovigerous female and 2 males as paratypes; however, the lot contained additional specimens (see above).

Diagnosis.

Carapace with 2 ridges, pits or tubercles (females); no distinct humps or granular structures near the dorsal end of carapace (males); pseudorostral lobes, very short, hardly meeting in a point in front of the ocular lobe. Pereopod 1 basis without distal tooth and longer than the rest of extremities. Uropod peduncle longer than pleonite 6, and longer than exopod; uropod exopod slightly longer than exopod; uropod ramis ending with acute tips, no terminal setae or mucrones (after Mühlenhardt-Siegel 2003 a).

Distribution.

East Indian Ocean, off West Australia, 0.5–1 m depth.
