Financial Performance of Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank (BGGB) in Gujarat and Maharashtra Gramin Bank (MGB) in Maharashtra: An Analytical Pilot Study

Regional Rural Banks (RRBs) play a vital role in promoting financial inclusion and rural development in India. The study selects Baroda Gujarat Gramin Bank and Maharashtra Gramin Bank due to their contrasting operational characteristics, enabling a comprehensive comparison of financial stability, growth patterns, and risk exposure among Regional Rural Banks. This study examines the financial performance of the above mentioned RRB’S in Gujarat and Maharashtra using key financial indicators such as deposits, advances, profitability, and asset quality, the study adopts an analytical pilot approach based on secondary data from recent reports. Findings indicate a steady improvement in profitability and financial strength, though challenges like rising Non-Performing Assets (NPAs) and regional disparities persist. The study suggests policy measures for strengthening operational efficiency and sustainability.
